Des’s Story

So long story short, I booked her! LOL!!!

I flew back home to the DMV one weekend to hang out. My friend’s then fiancé, Marcy, called to check on me. We talked for about an hour. During the conversation she kept mentioning, “Sis, I have this friend for you whenever you’re ready. She is such a good person and I know she would treat you right.” She replayed that for like an hour straight (LOL).

Fast forward a few months, I was newly single and Marcy and Charea invited me to come hang out with their friends as a pre-wedding celebration. Up until that point I’d never seen a picture of Taz, but when I saw her that night, I knew EXACTLY who she was! We didn’t speak that night, but she kept sending drinks to our table which was super cute.

A week later was Marcy and Charea’s wedding. I was so busy helping the bridal party that I didn’t get time to interact until BOOM…She asked me to take a picture of her. So I took the picture from my phone. Then she asked, “Are you going to send it to me?” I replied with, “I need your number to do that!” The look on her face was PRICELESS. And she quickly ran those digits and that was that lol #dmoney

Within a week we were in touch daily and have been inseparable ever since. I am so thankful for my friend circle for introducing me to such a beautiful person.

Taz’s Story

All I can say is she stole my heart. I had just moved to Georgia not knowing too many people. When I met her she was extremely cool and beyond thoughtful. Her heart was delicate yet so tough that our hearts were the same. I had to see what she was about. I advised her she would fall in love not knowing I had fell already but I kept my cool lol. Her heart was rare, her kindness was unmatched, I knew I had to snatch her up before she was destroyed and irreplaceable by someone else. She’s not only my wife to be but she’s my homie and my best friend.

She said YES!

I felt like a proposal was coming for about 6 months, but I just didn’t know when. Taz would ask random things about what an engagement looked like for me. Then when my best friend started asking me about what rings I like I was really excited, like, ‘Is this really about to happen?’

Leading up to my birthday party, Taz kept pacing and telling my makeup artist to make sure I looked good LOL. I felt so nervous and I rarely get nervous. (So nervous that I almost missed my exit and caught a flat on the way there UGH!) I honestly thought I was going to have a dinner party with my girls and that maybe I’d see Taz and her friends after that at a lounge or something. Little did I know that they were all there. All of my friends and loved ones. Some traveled for the special occasion too! I was so shocked. Everything was beautiful. We ate and I still didn’t know what was about to happen. After dinner, the waitress brought out a princess type of birthday cake with a crown and sparklers. They all started singing happy birthday and as the waitress placed the cake down I saw that it read, “Will you marry me?” By then I turned around and Taz was there smiling on one knee. It was such a special day for us and I will never forget it.

Taz, thank you for making my 40th birthday and our engagement such a magical experience. ❤️
