Becoming The Thompsons

D-Nice! Sister, sister. Where do I begin. She truly gets on my nerves lol, but I’m thankful for her each day. We are complete opposites, but the extremely deep love we have for one another as sisters keeps us together. She gave me the best nephew anyone could ever ask for too! I know the turn up will be real with Dommie’s energy in the building. I’m happy to have her share this day with me.

Bestie for life! Kris is my best friend of about 15 years. We met while working together when I lived in Jacksonville and we’ve been tight ever since. From work to vacations to a shoulder to cry on to celebrations and beyond, she’s been in my corner. Kris has such a relaxed spirit that all of my friends and family that have met her have gravitated towards as well. The respect we have for one another is amazing. I am so thankful to have gone through so many life changes with her as my best friend and confidant and am beyond excited to share this one as well!

Bae! Ashley has grown to be one of my closest friends ever in just a few years’ time. We confide in one another, spend time with our families, travel and we beat her and Quadir at spades all the time lol She’s a true gem and I’m blessed to call her my friend. Taz knew exactly who to call when it was time to decorate for the surprise birthday/engagement. I love that the friendship is so genuine - no hidden agendas, no negativity. Just love, light and positivity. This day wouldn’t be the same without her by my side.

My other little sister. As close to sisterhood as a cousin can get, that’s for sure! Taryn has blossomed into an amazing young woman. I get excited to go home to Maryland to see her and the kids as soon as I arrive for each visit. I don’t think there’s a time when we aren’t laughing together. I’m honored to have her on my team for such a special moment.

This one just stays getting better!!! We met somewhere around 2014-2015 not long after I moved to Atlanta and instantly became friends. We’ve traveled internationally together a few times and I coined her my Travel Bestie because she’s so carefree when it comes to trips! She’s that friend that you can call today and we can hop on a plane tomorrow. We are definitely due for another trip! We’ve both gone through so many life changes, lost loved ones, gained others, etc. and we still make sure we check in on one another. Definitely a gem. So blessed to have her in my life.

This type of friendship comes once in a lifetime. I love this woman with everything in me. God aligned us to live up the street from one another as kids, then re-aligned us to live in Jacksonville at the same time too…and then re-aligned us again to move back to Maryland around the same time!! Crazy, right? That’s how much God knew I needed her. So many life changes that we’ve both been through and neither of us have folded on one another. Never. She makes me smile. So excited to share this moment with her by my side.

Christina #2. Tina. Pud. Pick one. Just know this one can never ever get rid of me! We met in 2011 during orientation at Univ of MD Med System and have been friends ever since. I love and trust this woman so much. There’s not many you can say that about. My parents adore her and consider her family also. Her intelligence, humbleness, thoughtfulness no matter how full her plate is is a true testament to the quality woman Tina embodies. Another turn up queen on my team for sure! I’m excited for this experience and so thankful that she will be by my side.

My brother from another mother, my best friend,as well as my daughter’s godfather. We’ve been knowing each other since my freshman year of high school and we’re still rocking out. When we get together it’s nothing but laughs, jokes, and a room full of love turnup partner#1. I’m so glad he’s apart of our celebration. Love you

My sis, my best friend. We met when I was in the 7th or 8th grade, played after school basketball together as well as high school. We had each other’s back from being in fights to starting fights and will continue to have each other’s back. Always kept it real turnup partner #2. My bestie, Started our friendship back in the early 2000’s and have grown tighter and tighter. He’s always got my back just like I have his.
